Uzbekistan Tourism brand Ambassador to the Republic of Korea appointed

The Embassy of Uzbekistan in Seoul held a solemn ceremony of appointing a new ambassador of the country's tourism brand in the Republic of Korea. Kang Dae-yoon, Secretary General of the Global Cities Tourism Promotion Organization (TPO), received the honorary title.

The event was attended by members of the Korean Parliament, leading experts in the field of tourism and culture, media representatives and well-known bloggers.

During the presentation, the tourist attractiveness of Uzbekistan was highlighted in detail, including the President's initiative "Samarkand-the tourist gateway of the New Uzbekistan", as well as the rich historical and cultural heritage and unique travel destinations.

Special attention was paid to the launch of direct flights on the Busan – Tashkent route, which opened on June 4, 2025, which significantly expanded the opportunities for cultural, economic and tourist exchange between the countries.

In her speech, Kang Dae-yoon noted that the appointment of a travel brand ambassador is a great honor for her and an important opportunity to promote a unique tourism product of Uzbekistan in the international arena. She stressed that the high level of trust and the experience of interaction between peoples create a solid foundation for further strengthening cooperation and mutual understanding.

Guests of the event were able to get acquainted with national music and songs, as well as taste traditional Uzbek dishes, which added cultural depth to the event.

Founded in 2002, the Global Cities Tourism Promotion Organization (TPO) brings together 131 cities from 17 countries and plays a key role in promoting sustainable tourism. Samarkand, as an active member of the TPO, promotes modern approaches to the development of the tourism industry and the exchange of experience between cities.
