Apple has increased its PC market share in the United States, becoming the leader in shipments growth in the first quarter of 2025

Shipments of personal computers in the United States in the first quarter of 2025 showed significant growth. According to an industry analysis, total shipments of desktop and laptop computers reached 16.9 million units, an increase of 15% compared to the same period in 2024. The leader in terms of growth among the largest vendors was Apple, which showed an increase in shipments by 28.7%.

The company shipped 2.705 million Mac devices, up from 2.102 million a year earlier. This allowed Apple to increase its market share from 14.2% to 16.0%, becoming the only one of the top five manufacturers to gain more than 1.5 percentage points. For comparison, the share of Lenovo was 19.9%, HP-13.1%, Dell-8.3%. Other players either retained their positions or faced a decline.

Industry experts attribute the increase in deliveries to the proactive tactics of companies to build inventory. Expected adjustments to the US tariff policy have become one of the key incentives for increasing import volumes. This strategy allowed companies to increase their share in the short term, but led to an accumulation of inventory, which may affect sales dynamics in subsequent quarters.

An additional factor of uncertainty remains the continuing pressure on consumer spending. Given the slowdown in demand in the mass consumer segment, analysts predict that the overall growth of PC shipments in the US market in 2025 will be only about 2%. A more tangible recovery is expected in 2026, with 4% growth expected and volumes reaching 73 million units, up from 69.2 million in 2024.

The steady growth of Apple's share in a volatile economic environment reflects the effectiveness of its product strategy and stable demand for premium devices. However, in a saturated market, vendors will have to find a balance between operational efficiency, inventory management, and flexible adaptation to political and economic changes.
