On June 30, 2025, a telephone conversation was held between the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan Bakhtiyor Saidov and the Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Italy Antonio Tajani. The dialogue focused on a comprehensive review of the bilateral strategic partnership, as well as coordination of positions on topical regional and international issues.
Special attention was paid to the implementation of agreements reached as a result of high-level contacts. The parties confirmed their mutual commitment to implement specific initiatives aimed at developing trade, economic, investment, cultural and scientific cooperation.
A rich agenda of the year was discussed, including a number of events of various formats — from political consultations and business forums to cultural exchanges and joint scientific projects. Priority areas were identified, including the promotion of joint industrial projects, strengthening logistics connectivity, and supporting the private sector in entering new markets.
The Ministers also exchanged views on sustainable development, energy security and global food stability. The importance of constructive cooperation within the framework of international organizations and initiatives for the development of interregional dialogue between Europe and Central Asia was noted.
The contact demonstrated a high level of trust and political will to further deepen the Uzbek-Italian partnership, focused on long-term interests and joint implementation of strategic tasks.
