Russia and Uzbekistan strengthen academic partnership in creative industries and tourism

Cooperation between leading scientific and educational institutions of Russia and Uzbekistan is reaching a new level: an agreement was signed between the Research Institute for Tourism Development under the Committee on Tourism of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Institute for the Development of Creative Industries of the Faculty of Creative Industries. The partnership aims to create a sustainable platform for implementing educational, cultural and scientific initiatives in the field of tourism and the creative economy.

The document provides for the development of joint educational programs, conducting scientific research, creating knowledge exchange platforms and launching interdisciplinary projects. One of the first implemented initiatives was the international competition "Culture of the Republic of Uzbekistan in modern design". The competition is aimed at integrating the country's intangible cultural heritage into current design practices, as well as promoting the cultural code of Uzbekistan as a resource of tourist and creative attractiveness. The winners received grants in the amount of 10, 7 and 5 million soums.

The format of cooperation involves multi-format interaction: from double diplomas and academic exchanges to the creation of digital platforms, such as "Creative City" - an interactive database of creative initiatives, professional communities and educational cases. The structure also includes a system of online competitions, including the "Genius of the Place" platform, as well as specialized training programs on management in the creative industries.

The key area of joint work will be the creation of mechanisms for assessing the creative potential of territories, research on the role of museums in the formation of a tourist product, development of local brands and a system of professional development for employees of the museum and tourism sectors. The program aims to integrate cultural heritage into the economic and educational agenda of both countries.

According to experts, the strategic partnership forms a new model of interaction between the academic environment and the creative industry, combining scientific expertise, practice-oriented approaches and state priorities in the field of tourism and culture. The institutions of both countries express their confidence that cooperation will become a sustainable basis for generating new knowledge, developing human capital and promoting cultural heritage on the global stage.

The project is supported at the institutional level, which allows us to expect long-term results. The main focus will be on training personnel, developing research and educational infrastructure, and integrating the local context into international creative processes.
