Tashkent implemented an AI-based traffic monitoring system: predicting traffic jams and improving safety

An intelligent transport platform built on artificial intelligence technology has been launched in the capital. The new system is able to analyze the traffic situation in real time, predict congestion and increase the level of rapid response to incidents.

The platform is integrated with city video surveillance cameras and is connected to the Situational Monitoring Center at the road Patrol service. Its functionality includes not only automatic detection of violations, but also analysis of the causes of road accidents, as well as identification of structural factors that cause congestion on key highways.

According to road services, traffic congestion is expected to decrease by up to 50% due to more accurate forecasting and flow management. In addition, the technology can speed up the response of emergency services and reduce the number of accidents due to early warning of risks.

The launch of the system was part of the modernization of the city's security infrastructure. In parallel with the opening of the Situational Monitoring Center, the reconstruction of the road patrol service building was completed, and 40 new Cobalt vehicles were added to the division's fleet. Each vehicle is equipped with video cameras and a communication system synchronized with the Center, which makes it possible to form a single information field between patrol crews and the analytical platform.

The new system is considered as a basis for digital transformation of urban mobility management. The use of AI in the road sector reflects the desire to create a predictive and adaptive environment, where data serves as the basis for improving the safety, efficiency and quality of urban life.
