Apple pushes back bezvyrezny iPhone for 2030: redesign of the front panel will begin only with iPhone 18 Pro

Apple is in no hurry to introduce a completely bezelless screen in the iPhone line. According to industry analyst Ross Young, the company plans to make the first changes to the design of the front panel only with the release of the iPhone 18 Pro in 2026. The changes will affect the reduction in the size of Dynamic Island-a characteristic cutout that has become standard since the launch of the iPhone 14 Pro.

Serious steps towards cutting-edge design are expected only by 2028. According to the current internal roadmap, Apple plans to leave only a minimal round cutout for the front camera on the display by this time, hiding the rest of the elements of the Face ID system under the screen. The full transition to a display without cutouts and holes has been postponed until 2030.

The anniversary iPhone 19 Pro, scheduled for 2027 and timed to coincide with the 20th anniversary of the original iPhone, according to reports, will not receive radical changes to the design of the front panel. Instead, it is expected to introduce new hardware solutions, including a 2-nm Apple A21 Pro processor, 12 GB of RAM and a thinner case with a thickness of about 7.2 mm.

Against the backdrop of these deadlines, Apple's competitors in the Android ecosystem are already promoting smartphones with cut-off screens, using the technology of sub-screen cameras. However, such solutions are still inferior in image quality and accuracy of biometric sensors. Apple, apparently, is betting on the maturity of technology and user experience, delaying the launch until the technology is able to meet its standards.
