Amid preparations for the presentation of the flagship folding smartphone Magic V5, Honor increases information pressure and forms the image of a technology leader. Vice president of the Honor product line, Li Kun, made a sharp statement ahead of the release about the decline in the quality of competing products, emphasizing: "While others are degrading, we are progressing."
The official launch of Honor Magic V5 is scheduled for July 2. According to published data, the device will be the thinnest folding smartphone on the market: the case thickness when folded will be only 8.8 mm with a weight of about 217 grams. These parameters can significantly change the perception of dimensions in the foldable segment, which has so far suffered from excessive thickness and weight.
Technically, the Magic V5 promises to be one of the brand's most advanced models. The smartphone is equipped with a new Qinghai Lake battery with a capacity of 6100 mAh based on a high-silicon anode with a silicon content of 25%. This is the industry's first mass-produced battery of this type. The company relies on its energy efficiency and lightness, which allows you to achieve a balance between autonomy and compactness.
At the hardware level, the Magic V5 will be powered by the flagship Snapdragon 8 Elite chip. Biometric protection is implemented via a side-mounted fingerprint scanner.
Special attention is paid to the camera and artificial intelligence capabilities. The smartphone will receive the AiMAGE image processing system, which includes a variable aperture (from F1. 6 to F2. 5), focal lengths from 13 mm to 70 mm and a 3x optical zoom using periscope technology. In addition, Honor announces the introduction of AI mechanisms to control lighting, stylize images and improve telephoto shooting.
The presentation of the Magic V5 may be an important milestone for the brand in the fight for a share in the premium folding devices segment. Positioning the device as ultra-thin, light and intelligent creates a clear message for a technologically oriented audience, while statements from top managers create a confrontational effect and increase attention to the upcoming release.
