Fairphone 6: A modular smartphone with 12 replaceable components and a 5-year warranty is introduced

Company Fairphone introduced the sixth generation of its eco-friendly smartphone — Fairphone 6, the main features of which remain modularity, maintainability, and resistance to external influences. The device is aimed at consumers who are interested in the long-term use of technology and the reduction of electronic waste.

The smartphone received an updated design with the possibility of self-replacement 12 key componentsincluding the display, battery, USB-C port, speakers, camera modules, and other elements. All replacements can be made with a conventional phillips screwdriver without having to contact service centers.

The device body is made of recycled and ethically extracted materials. The screen is protected by glass Gorilla Glass 7i, the housing has a degree of dust and moisture protection IP55 and corresponds to military Drop Resistance Standards (MIL-STD).
