Uzbek-Malaysian business Forum outlines new vectors of economic cooperation

On June 24, the Uzbek-Malaysian business Forum was held as part of the visit of the official government delegation of Malaysia. The key topics of the meeting were investment partnership, development of sectoral cooperation and expansion of bilateral trade. The event was attended by high-level representatives of both countries, including Deputy Prime Minister of Uzbekistan, Minister of Economy and Finance Jamshid Kuchkarov and Deputy Prime Minister of Malaysia, Minister for Energy Transition and Water Transformation Fadillah bin Yusuf.

Uzbekistan presented key areas of investment growth at the forum, including opportunities in the energy, pharmaceutical, agricultural and tourism sectors. On behalf of the Uzbek side, Deputy Minister of Investment, Industry and Trade Akram Aliyev made a speech in the business part of the event, outlining priorities for attracting investors and creating sustainable economic ties.

The Malaysian delegation included representatives of government agencies and top managers of large companies, including Five Petroleum, KK Mart, Chiya, Stone Kingdom, Lestary Energy, Aries Engineering Consultants, MSG Green Energy, Xepa Soul Plattinson and Asetana Trillions. The companies expressed interest in localizing production, creating joint ventures and launching products to the Central Asian markets.

Within the framework of the forum, a ceremony was held to exchange signed agreements in the oil and gas industry, agriculture and trade. The documents provide for the launch of joint projects, the introduction of green technologies and the promotion of products for export. Special attention is paid to the creation of sustainable supply chains and the introduction of modern production standards.

Parallel to the plenary session, B2B and B2G negotiation sessions were organized. Representatives of the business community and government agencies of both countries held bilateral meetings aimed at concretizing business initiatives, discussing regulatory conditions and determining the format of further cooperation.

The forum participants noted the high level of organizational support and expressed interest in further deepening the partnership. In the context of global economic changes, the parties consider bilateral cooperation as a key element of sustainable development and diversification of foreign economic relations.
