Deputy Minister of Investment, Industry and Trade of the Republic of Uzbekistan Ilzat Kasimov took part in the Second Forum of Industrial and Investment Cooperation "Central Asia — China", held in Astana. The event brought together representatives of government agencies and the business community of the countries of the region and China.
The forum was dedicated to the development of economic partnership, the creation of joint ventures and attracting investment in strategically important industries. The focus was on initiatives to deepen industrial cooperation and integrate into global production and logistics chains.
During the plenary session, Ilzat Kasimov stressed the importance of expanding cooperation with China, which remains a key trading partner and strategic investor for Uzbekistan. Among the priority areas are mechanical engineering, chemical industry, food and textile industries. The parties expressed their readiness to join forces in order to increase the competitiveness of regional products and strengthen their positions on world markets.
During the panel discussions, participants discussed digital transformation, modernization of logistics systems, development of the agro-industrial complex and metallurgy. Mechanisms for creating a favorable environment for implementing joint projects and attracting new investors were discussed.
The forum ended with negotiations in B2B and B2G formats. Representatives of government agencies and business circles discussed practical steps to launch new projects and further develop cooperation in priority sectors of the economy.
