Skoda has unveiled the Superb concept in a pickup truck with a refrigerator and a sliding door to support cycling

Skoda has unveiled the new Skoda L&K 130 concept car-the first in the history of the company's student project, based on the flagship Superb model. The prototype was developed by students of the Skoda factory training center as part of an annual program aimed at developing engineering and design skills.

The main feature of the concept was the implementation in the back of a pickup truck with an emphasis on operation in the field of cycling. Skoda L&K 130 is designed for transportation and maintenance of sports bikes, as well as to support teams during competitions and training.

To create the structure, the engineers removed the roof of the car behind the C-pillar and installed an electric platform in its place. The platform can be tilted up to 35 degrees for easier loading and fixing of bicycles. This design element ensures reliable transportation of bicycles and easy installation and disassembly in the field.

The rear part of the body is equipped with a refrigerator for storing water bottles and sports nutrition. This solution increases the functionality of the car when used as a mobile support point for athletes.

The interior has undergone major changes: only one passenger seat has been left on the second row, the rest of the space has been converted into additional equipment and luggage compartment. This solution made it possible to adapt the interior space to the specific tasks of the technical support team.

The right side door of the concept has been upgraded and is designed as a sliding structure with two external handles for increased ease of access and security. The door is equipped with a double locking system and minimizes risks for cyclists and pedestrians when boarding and disembarking.

The concept is painted in the traditional colors of the Laurin & Klement brand: gold, red, white and black. These shades emphasize the premium status of the project and refer to the historical roots of the brand.

The public premiere of the Skoda L&K 130 will take place at the Tour de France cycling race, which will be held from July 5 to 27. The car will be presented as an example of Skoda's engineering capabilities and a conceptual approach to creating specialized vehicles for professional sports.
