Uzum Bank reduces generous conditions: from July 1, 2025, free transfers from the Uzum card will be canceled, travel in transport-under the new rules

Uzum Bank customers are facing the end of the" golden period " of favorable conditions. What many thought was almost a fairy tale will soon become history. The promotion, which was valid until June 30, ends.

Starting from July 1, 2025, free transfers of up to 100 million soums per month from the Uzum card to the Uzcard and Humo cards will be discontinued (this feature is still available and valid until the end of the month).

Other benefits of the Uzum card that may also be canceled or will be available under new conditions: withdraw cash from any ATMs in the country without commission, pay for transport trips at a minimum price of 650 soums with cashback (for trips on the metro and buses in Tashkent, just pay with a QR code or Uzum card and immediately get a refund on the card). The opportunity to make purchases in Uzum Market and Uzum Tezkor services with discounts of up to 30% with an Uzum Visa card.

All this did not require any additional conditions — it was enough to have a map and use it. Officially, this is presented as the end of the promotion, but, in fact, we are talking about a complete change in the principles of operation of the service, to which users have already become accustomed.

What is waiting for users now?

Starting from July 1, 2025, free transfers and simple bonuses will no longer be available in the same form. To activate free transfers of up to 100 million soums on Uzcard and Humo, you will first need to place and receive an order in Uzum Market. Only then will you be able to send money without commission. In fact, free transfers now become a bonus for purchases, and not a standard feature of the card.

То есть, деньги, которые бы пользователь потратил на комиссию за перевод с карты на карту – он «депозитом» платит за товар в сервисах Uzum’a. Однако, будущая процентная ставка за перевод с карты Uzum пока не оглашается. Но, предположим условно, пользователь приобретает товар на сумму 200.000 сум, чтобы активировать опцию карты и совершать беспроцентные переводы. Если эти 200.000 сум = 1% комиссии за перевод (как у многих других платежных систем), значит, пользователь заранее оплачивает свою комиссию за перевод в двадцать миллионов сум. С одной стороны, в масштабах 100 миллионов сум – это выгоднее, чем просто оплачивать комиссию каждый раз в 1%. С другой стороны, при прежних условиях пользователь не платил ничего, а теперь, вынужден потратить ровно столько, сколько будет стоить товар в Uzum Market. К слову, о минимальной сумме, на которую требуется совершить покупку для активации беспроцентных переводов с Uzum-карты, тоже пока ничего не говорится и неизвестно, будут ли эти условия вообще. С третьей стороны, средний класс граждан крайне редко делают переводы в 20 миллионов (если ориентироваться на приведенный пример выше), так как средний уровень заработной платы в Узбекистане составляет 5,796 млн сумов (согласно данным gazeta.uz за первый квартал 2025 года).

The scheme with cashback for travel has also changed. You can no longer just pay for your trip and get a refund. Again, first you need to make any purchase with an Uzum card (except for transport, installments and microloans). Only after that, cashback is activated, which will be distributed for 50 trips per month.

All the above information about the transformation of the terms of use of the Uzum card appeared only in the Uzum Bank application, while it has not yet been published on the bank's website or on social media pages. Also, the mobile app notes that the new terms and conditions will be valid until July 31, 2025.

The new policy causes mixed feelings. Yes, such changes were expected — it is difficult to keep such generous terms in a commercial bank for a long time. But still, when the profitable and convenient turns into a series of restrictions and conditions, it brings moral and financial discomfort.
