Advanced solutions for digitalization of urban transport demonstrated in China

Minister of Digital Technologies Sherzod Shermatov visited the data processing center of the Karamay Smart Transport project during his visit to China. The delegation got acquainted with modern digital solutions aimed at improving urban transport management and improving road safety.

The center presents digital public transport management technologies, continuous traffic monitoring and analysis systems, as well as solutions for automating the operation of transport infrastructure. The main focus is on the application of artificial intelligence and big data analytics technologies to optimize the urban transport system.

The Karamai Smart Transport project is aimed at modernizing the city's infrastructure and creating a convenient and safe environment for passengers. The implemented intelligent transport system includes a number of key functions:

- Traffic light Management (Signal Control): adaptive control of traffic flows by dynamically controlling the phases and cycles of traffic lights;
- E-Police and checkpoints: automatic detection of traffic violations and their analysis;
- Device management: centralized monitoring and control of the state of the equipment of the intelligent transport system;
- Monitoring and awareness: monitoring the traffic flow and technical condition of equipment in real time;
- Maintenance: automatic diagnostics and preventive maintenance to maintain the smooth operation of the equipment.

In addition, the system provides an algorithm based on artificial intelligence for identifying individuals and searching for lost items.

According to the center, the introduction of an intelligent transport system has significantly reduced the number of road accidents and increased traffic capacity at city intersections. The experience of Karamay is considered as a significant example for possible application in the cities of Uzbekistan in the implementation of digitalization programs for the transport sector.
