Opel Grandland Electric AWD: the brand's first all-wheel-drive electric car with a power reserve of up to 500 km

Opel has unveiled its first all — electric car with all-wheel drive, the Grandland Electric AWD. The new car expands the brand's range of electric vehicles and becomes a key model in Opel's electrification strategy, which covers the entire range of the brand from 2024.

The Grandland Electric AWD retains the distinctive design features of the Grandland family. The front end features Vizor's signature 3D panel and the illuminated Opel Blitz logo, which is now equipped with Edge Light technology for added visual expression. Intelli-Lux HD LED headlights with more than 50,000 elements provide precise and adaptive road lighting. At the rear, the boot lid is embossed with the Opel logo without the use of chrome, which corresponds to the brand's concept of reducing environmental impact.

Special attention is paid to aerodynamics. The car received optimized bumpers with aerodynamic inserts and 20-inch two-tone wheels, which help reduce air resistance. The aerodynamic drag coefficient of the Cd model is 0.278 — the best indicator among all Grandland modifications.

The Grandland Electric AWD is equipped with a 73 kWh NMC lithium-ion battery. The claimed power reserve reaches 501 km on the WLTP cycle. Fast charging from 20% to 80% takes less than 30 minutes when connected to the appropriate charging station.

The powertrain consists of a 157 kW (213 hp) electric motor mounted on the front axle and an additional 82 kW (112 hp) electric motor on the rear axle. The total power of the system reaches 239 kW (325 hp), and the maximum torque — 509 Nm. Grandland Electric AWD accelerates to 100 km / h in 6.1 seconds. The driver is offered four driving modes: Normal, 4WD, Sport and Eco, each of which is adapted to different operating conditions and driving style.

The undercarriage has received a unique setup with frequency-selective damping dampers, anti-roll bars, specific springs and adapted steering. These solutions are aimed at improving the comfort, stability and dynamics of the car.

Grandland Electric AWD continues Opel's line of development in the field of sustainable mobility and demonstrates the company's commitment to offering electric vehicles that combine modern technology, safety and driving pleasure. Prices and dates for the start of sales of the model will be announced later.
