Microsoft has revealed key details of the next generation of Xbox game consoles. The company confirmed the continuation of cooperation with AMD, with which a strategic multi-year partnership has been concluded. As part of this agreement, Microsoft and AMD are jointly developing new chips for the entire portfolio of gaming devices, including Xbox desktop consoles and portable solutions.

The architecture of the new consoles will be based on specially designed AMD chips. According to representatives of Microsoft, this will bring graphics capabilities to a new level through the use of advanced technologies in the field of "gaming silicon" and the integration of artificial intelligence capabilities. One of the priorities remains to maintain full compatibility with the existing Xbox game library, which will ensure that users can smoothly upgrade to new hardware without losing access to content.

Microsoft also outlined a change in approach to the game distribution ecosystem. The new generation of Xbox will be focused not only on using its own Microsoft Store. The company openly declares its desire to create a flexible gaming platform that will allow you to run games on any device and from different sources. According to available information and in the context of previous leaks, we can expect the integration of the Steam store in future Xbox consoles. This step will significantly expand the user experience when choosing games and open up access to the world's largest library of digital PC games.

Special attention is paid to the development of the equipment line. In addition to traditional home consoles, Microsoft plans to offer portable solutions. At the same time, the company can implement the project both on its own and with the involvement of partners. An example of this approach is the experience of cooperation with Asus, which previously demonstrated that the release of handheld gaming devices can be delegated to external manufacturers.
