Chevrolet introduced the Corvette ZR1X — the most powerful American sports car with a hybrid powertrain and record-breaking performance. The new model is powered by a 5.5-liter twin-turbo V8 engine that produces 1,064 horsepower at 7,000 rpm and 828 lb-ft of torque at 6,000 rpm. An electric motor on the front axle adds another 186 horsepower and 145 lb-ft of torque. The combined power reaches 1,250 horsepower, which makes the car all-wheel drive.
The Corvette ZR1X can accelerate to 100 km / h in less than 2 seconds and cover a quarter mile in less than 9 seconds with a final speed of about 241 km/h. The electric motor is powered by a 1.9 kWh lithium-ion battery integrated into the rigid-frame chassis.
The model is offered in coupe and convertible body styles. For those who want to improve dynamics and handling, the optional ZTK Performance Package is available. It includes high-performance Michelin Pilot Cup 2R tires and an optional Carbon Aero Package with carbon elements.: anti-wing, spoilers and fenders that provide downforce of up to 545 kg at maximum speed.
The J59 brake system features 16.5-inch rotors on both axles with 10-piston calipers in the front and 6-piston calipers in the rear. Standard equipment includes Michelin PS4S tires.
The price of the Chevrolet Corvette ZR1X has not yet been officially announced.
