Apple may introduce a revolutionary technology for non-invasive blood glucose measurement in its smartwatch much earlier than previously predicted. According to GF Securities analyst Jeff Pu, according to data from Apple's supply chain, commercial implementation of this technology may take place as early as 2027. Previously, the industry announced deadlines of five to seven years or more, based on the complexity of development and the need to solve technical problems.
According to available information, this date is preliminary. Sources do not rule out that the launch may move to 2028, but in any case, we are talking about the next two or three years, which significantly reduces the previously estimated time frame.
It is not yet clear which model will be the first with a non-invasive blood glucose meter. Two options are considered: integration into the Apple Watch Ultra line, where the technology could emphasize the premium status of the device, or implementation in the standard Apple Watch Series, which would significantly expand the audience and stimulate mass demand.
If the forecasts are confirmed, the appearance of such devices on the market will be a significant event not only for the wearable electronics industry, but also for the market of health monitoring technologies.
