Smartphones of the Xiaomi 16 and Redmi K90 series can get completely new Real RGB OLED displays with a resolution of 2K. Information about this appeared thanks to a leak spread by a well-known insider of Digital Chat Station.
It is reported that mass production of Real RGB OLED panels will start in September. This creates the prerequisites for the appearance of devices with new screens on sale before the end of the year.
A special feature of Real RGB OLED displays is the use of a full-fledged RGB subpixel layout. In such panels, each red, green and blue subpixel emits light independently, which distinguishes them from the traditional PenTile structure. This solution minimizes the loss of pixel density and provides high-definition images, especially when displaying text.
Earlier, the same source reported on Xiaomi's plans to use a new flat 6.59-inch display with a resolution of 2K LTPS in the Redmi K90 series. The panel is characterized by high pixel density and the use of next-generation materials, which further confirms the manufacturer's desire to improve image quality in future models.
