AMD has announced plans to launch the Instinct MI400 accelerator with 432 GB of HBM4 memory and a bandwidth of almost 20 TB/s.

AMD has announced the development of a new graphics accelerator Instinct MI400, which is scheduled to launch in 2026. The device will be equipped with 432 GB of HBM4 memory, providing a bandwidth of up to 19.6 TB / s-this will potentially be one of the highest indicators on the market in the segment of data centers and artificial intelligence.

The Instinct MI400 should be the next step in AMD's line of high-performance accelerators designed to compete in the AI computing and scientific simulation sectors. The device will be built on the next-generation architecture, details of which have not yet been disclosed.

For comparison, the previously presented Instinct MI350X, which will appear in 2025, has 288 GB of HBM3E memory and a bandwidth of 8 TB/s. Despite the fact that this indicator already significantly exceeds the capabilities of most existing solutions, the MI400's characteristics show a twofold increase in bandwidth and a significant increase in memory capacity.

The Instinct MI400 will be part of AMD's long-term strategy to strengthen its position in high-performance computing, including neural network learning, large-scale simulations, and cloud-based AI services. The company relies on architecture scalability and integration of the latest memory standards, including HBM4, which provides higher density and power performance.
