Huawei Pura80 Ultra received the Kirin 9020 platform: technical characteristics of the new flagship are confirmed

On June 12, Huawei introduced a new line of Pura80 smartphones, which includes four models: basic, Pura80 Pro, Pura80 Pro+ and top-end Pura80 Ultra. During the presentation, the company did not disclose details about the single-chip systems used, limiting itself to a statement about a performance increase of up to 36% compared to the Pura70 series.

However, shortly after the announcement, photos of the Pura80 Ultra appeared on the Chinese social network Weibo, which confirms the use of the Kirin 9020 platform — the same one that underlies the Mate 70 Pro.

The Kirin 9020 is an on-chip system developed by HiSilicon and built on a three-cluster architecture: one core at 2.5 GHz, three cores at 2.15 GHz, and four cores at 1.6 GHz. The two older clusters support multithreading, so the processor functions as a 12-thread processor. The Maleoon 920 accelerator with a frequency of 840 MHz is responsible for graphics performance.

According to preliminary data, Pura80 Pro also uses Kirin 9020, while the base model can be equipped with its modification — Kirin 9020A. The latter has slightly reduced core frequencies: up to 2.4 GHz, 2.0 GHz, and 1.6 GHz, respectively.

The Pura80 and Pura80 Pro models have 12 GB of RAM, and the storage capacity ranges from 256 GB to 1 TB. Older versions-Pura80 Pro+ and Pura80 Ultra-received 16 GB of RAM and storage options of 512 GB or 1 TB. All devices are running the proprietary HarmonyOS 5.1 operating system.
