The new portable PlayStation will get 16 GB of LPDDR5X and cache memory, which is absent even in the PS5 Pro

The development of Sony's new handheld game console continues to attract the attention of industry analysts. According to the latest leaks, the future model will receive 16 GB of LPDDR5X RAM, which corresponds to the amount of memory in the current stationary PlayStation 5 console.
Although the RAM bandwidth of the portable version will be inferior to the flagship systems, this limitation is compensated by the advanced caching system. It is expected to have 4 MB of second-level cache and 16 GB of Infinity Cache-a specialized cache that is not even available in the PS5 Pro, and was previously used mainly in AMD Radeon RX series video cards.
The device is being developed in parallel with the PlayStation 6 console and, according to preliminary estimates, can enter the market in a comparable time frame. According to unofficial sources, the new portable platform will be productive enough to support the launch of games for PS5, although some titles will require partial adaptation or reduction of graphic settings.
Details about the chipset used, graphics core architecture, and release dates are not officially disclosed. However, the technical specifications point to Sony's ambition to regain its position in the high-performance portable gaming segment, which the company has been absent from since the PlayStation Vita.
