Huawei has officially introduced the flagship smartphone series Pura80, which became the first on the market with the pre-installed operating system HarmonyOS 5.1. Simultaneously with the announcement of the devices, the manufacturer announced a major update — in July of this year, dozens of existing Huawei models will receive a new version of the operating system.
According to official data, HarmonyOS 5.1 offers enhanced interactive features, an updated performance architecture, and a new intelligent assistant capable of elementary reasoning. According to Huawei, the update allows you to achieve an increase in speed by 36% and increase the smoothness of the interface by 47% compared to the previous generation (for example, the Pura70 Pro+model).
Special attention in HarmonyOS 5.1 is paid to optimizing the interface and improving the system response in multitasking mode. The new version of the OS focuses on integration with the ecosystem of Huawei devices, including tablets, wearable electronics and flexible smartphones.
Dozens of models will receive the update
Huawei also published a list of devices for which the HarmonyOS 5.1 update will be available in July. The list includes both flagship and mid-budget devices, including smartphones, tablets, and smartwatches. Among them:
Smartphones:
- Mate 70 and Mate 60 Series
- Huawei Mate XT
- Flexible Models: Mate X6, Mate X5
- Pura70, Pura X Series

- Smartphones of the Nova 14, Nova 13, and Nova 12 series

First introduced in 2019 as an alternative to Android, HarmonyOS is gradually evolving into a large-scale multi-platform ecosystem. Version 5.1 marks the next step in Huawei's strategy to move away from Western technologies and strengthen its independent software platform.
Analysts note that due to the stable development of HarmonyOS, Huawei demonstrates the ability to adapt to geopolitical constraints and maintain competitiveness in the high-tech market, including the wearable electronics and hybrid device segments.
HarmonyOS 5.1 not only enhances Huawei's manufacturing advantages in software, but also expands the potential for interaction between the brand's devices. The Pura80 series is becoming the flagship of this transition, while also underscoring the company's ambitions in the premium smartphone segment and digital ecosystem.
