Yandex Market launches equipment insurance with replacement by a new one

The online platform Yandex Market has announced the launch of a new service — equipment insurance with guaranteed replacement of the device in case of failure. The innovation is already available for owners of most smartphone models in Moscow and a number of cities in the Moscow region. In the near future, the company intends to expand the coverage geography and include other categories of equipment in the program — from headphones to large consumer electronics.

The new service is fully integrated into the Yandex Market ecosystem: registration of a policy, submission of a replacement application, as well as consultations take place directly in the app or on the marketplace website, without the need to switch to third-party services of insurance companies.

How does it work?
The buyer just needs to add insurance when choosing a product or during the order processing process. The policy is issued on the basis of the device's serial number and comes into force after it is received.

If the device is damaged — for example, as a result of a fall, contact with water, or other unforeseen situations-the user can request replacement. To do this, you must::

• Open the Insurance section in the app or on the website;
• Click the"Phone broke" button;
• Fill out the application form.

After that, the support service contacts the client, accepts the application, and coordinates further actions. Replacement is carried out with a similar or comparable model in terms of characteristics. Delivery of a new device is carried out by courier service on average during the day.

Separately, it is emphasized that the insurance remains valid even if the device is resold or transferred to another user.

Development prospects
Yandex Market reported that in the future, insurance will be available for more than half of the entire range of the site. The company is also working on creating a flexible insurance system with different levels of coverage and convenient payment formats. One of the future formats is an insurance subscription, where the policy is paid in installments and automatically renewed without user participation.

Yandex Market takes another step towards strengthening customer service and developing the online retail infrastructure, offering users comprehensive solutions not only for purchasing, but also for protecting equipment.
