Tashkent hosted the first discussion forum "AI Talks" — an open conversation about the role of artificial intelligence

On Saturday, the Congress Hall of the Ministry of Digital Technologies of Uzbekistan hosted the first forum "AI Talks", organized by IT Park University, American University of Technology (AUT), IT Park Uzbekistan and EPAM. The event opened a new series of public discussions on the role of artificial intelligence in modern society, technology and education. The theme of the first meeting — "AI-friend or foe?" -brought together students, teachers, representatives of the IT industry and researchers.

Unlike traditional conferences, the meeting was held in an informal format with an emphasis on live communication, open debates and audience engagement. Participants discussed issues related to the nature of AI, its ability to act independently, its impact on educational processes, and the risks of automation and job reduction. The competition between algorithmic accuracy and human critical thinking was discussed.

Among the speakers are Bokhodir Ayupov, General Director of IT Park University and moderator of the session, Dr. Rajan Tripathi, Director of the AI Innovation Lab at AUT, Professor Said Irandoust, Rector of AUT, as well as representatives of EPAM Uzbekistan-Renat Akhtyamov and Marina Ten.

The event ended with an interactive part — an impromptu competition "Human vs AI", during which participants and viewers tested the intellectual capabilities of a person and an algorithm in real time.

The AI Talks project is planned as a regular platform for open discussion of key areas of artificial intelligence development. The next event will focus on the interaction of AI and creative industries.
