Uzbekistan improves its position in the global GSMA Mobile Connectivity Index

Uzbekistan is recognized as the leader among Central Asian countries in the "Infrastructure" component of the GSMA Global Mobile Connectivity Index. According to the updated data, the republic showed the highest result among neighboring states in this direction.

The index measures the level of mobile communication development by four key components: infrastructure, access, service quality, and consumer readiness. Experts note that Uzbekistan shows steady growth in other areas, which allowed the country to move from the category of "transitional" economies (Transitioner) to a more advanced category — Advanced.

This progress has been made possible by consistent government policies to digitalize the economy, modernize telecommunications infrastructure, and expand access to mobile and digital services.

The growth in the index also reflects efforts to create an enabling environment for the introduction of new services, develop the private sector in telecommunications, and actively integrate international standards.

It is expected that further development of the sector and implementation of digital initiatives within the framework of national strategies will further improve Uzbekistan's position in international digital readiness ratings.
