Samsung is preparing to release a new line of flagship smartphones Galaxy S26, and, according to sources, the devices will be thinner, while maintaining high performance and improved cameras.
All three models — Galaxy S26, Galaxy S26 Plus and Galaxy S26 Ultra-will receive a reduced case thickness. So, the Galaxy S26 and S26 Plus will have a thickness of less than 7 mm (the exact value is 6. X mm), and the top version of the Galaxy S26 Ultra-less than 8 mm (7. X mm), which makes them the thinnest devices in the history of the Galaxy S line. For comparison, the Galaxy S25 Ultra is 8.2 mm thick, while the Galaxy S25 and S25 Plus are 7.2 and 7.3 mm thick, respectively.
This reduction in size, according to preliminary data, was made possible thanks to an innovative camera design, which probably includes a more compact optical system of a new generation. At the same time, Samsung has not yet disclosed whether the autonomy of devices will suffer due to a possible decrease in battery capacity.
Another major update will be an improved camera module with 3x optical zoom. In the new models, it will be based on a 12-megapixel sensor, while the Galaxy S25 used a 10-megapixel sensor. The camera, according to sources, will not only be more accurate, but also better cope with the details on the approach.
The official announcement of the Galaxy S26 line is expected in early 2026. Details about the battery capacity, the exact characteristics of displays and software innovations Samsung promises to reveal closer to the presentation date.
