Namangan region strengthens support for entrepreneurs: government-business dialogue reaches a new level

Large-scale work on the development of industry and the private sector continues in Uzbekistan. Special attention is paid to regions with high entrepreneurial potential, such as Namangan region, where more than 43 thousand small and medium-sized businesses operate today. Many of them operate at their own production facilities and within 73 small industrial zones covering key sectors of the region's economy.

As part of the implementation of the tasks outlined at the video conference chaired by President Shavkat Mirziyoyev on April 9, 2025, an expanded meeting of business representatives was held in Namangan with the participation of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Uzbekistan and the Small Business Association. The purpose of the event was to discuss pressing problems of entrepreneurs, find solutions and form proposals that can form the basis of the agenda of the future annual dialogue between the President and the business community, traditionally held on August 20.

The meeting was attended by Khokim of Namangan region Shavkat Abdurazzokov, Chairman of the Small Business Association Kamola Mirzaliyeva, representatives of the regional departments of finance, economy, justice, tax and customs services, as well as more than 150 entrepreneurs. Topical issues related to access to finance, provision of concessional loans and equipment leasing, as well as support for export-oriented industries were discussed. Special attention was paid to the problems of logistics, expanding sales channels and removing administrative barriers.

Entrepreneurs voiced a number of proposals, including reducing the income tax, changing the categories of land plots and creating a specialized industrial zone for the production of building materials and furniture in Naryn district. The issues of restoration of property rights and registration of land for industrial needs were also discussed.

One of the brightest speeches was the appeal of the head of Fazman Tekstil company from Davlatabad district Tokhirjon Juraev, who reported on difficulties in exporting products to the United States. The company is preparing to ship a large batch of men's clothing, but the lack of direct flights forces logistics through third countries, increasing costs. According to him, the authorities carefully listened to the problems voiced and expressed their readiness to consider the possibility of introducing additional support measures in such cases.

As a result of the meeting, specific decisions were made on a number of appeals, instructions were given to relevant departments and directions for further work were outlined. The dialogue confirmed the importance of regular communication between business and government authorities and the role of regional initiatives in implementing the national strategy for private sector development.
