Honor is gearing up for the upcoming launch of its new Magic V5 foldable smartphone, which promises to be the most productive and self-contained device in its class. The novelty with the model number MHG-AN00 has already appeared in the Geekbench database, revealing key technical characteristics.
The smartphone will be built on a single-chip Snapdragon 8 Elite system, supplemented by 16 GB of LPDDR5x RAM and Android 15 as the operating system. In Geekbench's performance tests, the device scored 2,976 points in single-core mode and 8892 points in multi-core mode, which confirms its flagship status.
One of the main features of the Honor Magic V5 will be a battery with a capacity of 6100 mAh — this is the highest rate among all folding smartphones on the market. Wired charging with a power of 66 W and wireless charging with a power of 50 W are supported, which ensures high autonomy and fast charging even when you are actively working.
The smartphone will receive two OLED displays with a refresh rate of 120 Hz:
- 6.45-inch external screen,
- 8-inch internal folding display, which makes the device versatile for everyday use, as well as for multimedia tasks and multitasking.
The photo capabilities of the new product are also impressive:
- 50 MP main camera with optical stabilization,
- 50-megapixel ultra-wide module,
- A periscope telephoto lens with a 200 MP sensor, which can make the device one of the leaders in mobile photography.
Other features include up to 1 TB of built-in UFS 4.0 storage, satellite messaging support, IPX8 water protection, and a side-mounted fingerprint scanner. The device will run on the proprietary shell MagicOS 9.0, developed on the basis of Android 15.
The official launch of Honor Magic V5 in China is expected during June. Then, in July, the company plans to introduce the Magic V2 Flip model with a Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chip, expanding its line of folding solutions. Honor clearly intends to gain a foothold in the premium device segment, offering high performance, advanced technology, and long battery life.
