Microsoft has launched a free video generator with AI based on Sora in mobile Bing

Microsoft Corporation has introduced a new tool based on artificial intelligence — Bing Video Creator, which allows users to create short videos for free using the Sora model from OpenAI. The new product is already available in the Bing mobile app for Android and iOS, and will soon appear in the desktop version.

Until recently, Sora's video generation technology was available exclusively to ChatGPT Plus subscribers, but now Microsoft provides access to a wide audience - without a fee and directly through the Bing search bar. The user just needs to enter a text description, after which the system will generate a video.

Functional Features of Bing Video Creator:

• Ability to generate up to three videos simultaneously;
• Notifications about content availability;
• Support for two generation modes: standard (available to everyone for free) and accelerated (videos are created in a few seconds);
• 10 quick generations are provided for free, then you can use the standard mode or exchange 100 Microsoft Rewards points for accelerated access.;
• Videos are saved in the vertical 9:16 format, and the horizontal 16:9 format will be added later;
• Storage of files in the app — up to 90 days, with the ability to download and publish in social networks.

According to Microsoft representatives, the tool is aimed at users who want to quickly and easily create visual content for personal or professional use. Despite the demo examples that the company has already published, the animation quality is still inferior to competitive solutions — in particular, the Veo 3 generator from Google. Users note simplified drawing of characters and not always correct animation of movements.

However, the launch of Bing Video Creator highlights the growing competition in the AI video product segment and Microsoft's desire to strengthen its position in the generative multimedia technology market.
