Uzbekistan strengthens digital partnership with the European Union amid geopolitical challenges

Uzbekistan continues its policy of deepening pragmatic and mutually beneficial cooperation with the European Union, despite increasing external pressures. This was stated by Deputy Secretary of the Security Council of the Republic of Uzbekistan Abdulaziz Kamilov during an international forum dedicated to digital development and global interaction.

According to him, Tashkent adheres to a consistent strategy of openness, sustainable modernization and technological integration. Uzbekistan considers the EU as one of the key partners in the development of digital infrastructure and promotion of high-tech initiatives.

Central Asia enters the international arena as a single region

Kamilov emphasized that for the first time the Central Asian countries are demonstrating their ability to act as a single regional entity in international relations. This opens up new horizons for a comprehensive partnership with Europe, including in the field of digital transformation. According to him, such a combination of efforts allows the region to form a consolidated agenda and build stable foreign policy and economic ties with the EU.

Digitalization is at the center of the agenda

Special attention in negotiations with the European Union is paid to the digital agenda: creating a modern telecommunications infrastructure, supporting international IT projects and stimulating technological exchange. Uzbekistan intends to increase cooperation in such areas as cybersecurity, cloud computing, digital governance, as well as training personnel for the digital economy.

Kamilov stressed that despite global turbulence and attempts of external pressure, Tashkent will consistently develop international technological alliances. The priority is to attract investment in the digital sphere, create joint incubators and participate in trans-regional digital cooperation platforms.

Uzbekistan confirms its commitment to technological openness

Kamilov's speech was another confirmation that Uzbekistan considers digital transformation not only as an internal task, but also as an important element of its foreign policy strategy. According to him, the country seeks not only to import technologies, but also to actively participate in their joint development, acting as a reliable partner for European structures.

Thus, Uzbekistan demonstrates its readiness not only to strengthen ties with the EU, but also to contribute to the formation of a sustainable digital architecture of the Eurasian space.
