The head of Nvidia explained why it is not necessary to be afraid of AI, and it is worth learning to manage it

At the Milken Institute Global Conference, Jensen Huang, CEO and co-founder of Nvidia, made a statement that caused a wide response in the business community. He stressed that the fear of losing your job due to artificial intelligence is exaggerated — the real threat comes not from machines, but from people who know how to use them effectively.

"Every profession will be affected by artificial intelligence, and this will happen in the near future. However, it is not the AI itself that will fire you, but the person who knows how to work with it, " Huang said. He added that as of the end of March 2025, there is not a single profession that AI can perform completely autonomously. Nevertheless, technologies are already successfully coping with a large number of routine tasks, and the demand for specialists who can train and use AI systems is growing rapidly.

Huang noted that there are about 30 million people in the world who have the necessary programming and AI skills. All the others, in his opinion, are not yet included in the technological transformation, which can create a significant gap in competitiveness.

At the same time, not all representatives of the artificial intelligence industry share this optimism. Dario Amodei, CEO of Anthropic, said that over the next 1-5 years, technology can displace up to half of low-level office professions. According to him, AI will first start performing auxiliary tasks, and then fully automate them, which will lead to a reduction in hiring in a number of sectors.

Some tech companies, including Shopify, Duolingo, and Fiverr, are already implementing policies to actively use AI in their employees ' work. In particular, in Shopify, managers are advised to apply AI tools as fully as possible before requesting an increase in staff.

However, Jensen Huang also highlights the positive aspects — according to him, AI creates new jobs, especially in the areas of programming, machine learning and engineering. With the advent of new platforms and technologies, the very structure of production processes is changing, opening the way for specialists who can design, train and adapt AI systems.

He also said that he uses modern chatbots, including ChatGPT and Google Gemini, to prepare drafts of his speeches and working materials. Huang believes that ignoring AI today means voluntarily withdrawing from the technological process that determines the future of markets and professions.

Earlier it was reported that artificial intelligence, despite its capabilities, already shows signs of gender and racial bias-which is explained by the peculiarities of training samples. In addition, experts drew attention to the unstable behavior of AI in some scenarios, including sensitive content of emails, where systems showed a tendency to take inappropriate actions when there was a threat of disconnection.

Thus, the development of AI is accompanied by both new opportunities and serious ethical and social issues. Experts agree on one thing: to maintain your competitiveness, it is important not to be afraid of a new technology, but to learn how to manage it.
