The Senate of the Oliy Majlis discussed prospects for deepening Uzbek-French cooperation in the field of culture

The Senate of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan hosted an official meeting between the Chairman of the Senate Tanzila Narbayeva and the Chairman of the Council of the International Alliance for the Protection of Cultural Heritage in Conflict Zones (ALIPH), Cultural Adviser to the President of France Bariza Hiari.

The parties had a meaningful conversation, during which they discussed topical issues and prospects for further expansion of cooperation between Uzbekistan and France in the cultural and humanitarian sphere. Special attention was paid to strengthening partnership in the field of art, intercultural dialogue, as well as joint work on the preservation and restoration of historical and cultural heritage.

Within the framework of the dialogue, the possibilities of implementing new restoration projects, supporting youth initiatives and developing a volunteer movement in the field of cultural monuments protection were considered. It was emphasized that the involvement of young professionals and the public plays an important role in ensuring the sustainability and long-term preservation of cultural values.

One of the key areas of discussion was also the development of advanced training programs for specialists working in the field of cultural heritage. The parties noted the need to exchange experience and expand joint educational initiatives, which will strengthen professional ties and increase the overall level of competence in this field.

Special attention was paid to the issues of inter-parliamentary cooperation. The sides stressed the importance of regular bilateral visits, exchanges of delegations and activation of the work of relevant parliamentary committees. They expressed their desire for closer cooperation through inter-parliamentary friendship groups, which contribute to deepening dialogue and coordination in priority areas of bilateral relations.

Following the meeting, the parties confirmed their mutual interest in further developing the partnership, implementing joint cultural projects and strengthening humanitarian ties. It was emphasized that joint efforts in the field of culture and art will contribute to strengthening mutual understanding, friendship and trust between the peoples of Uzbekistan and France.
