Uzbekistan and Saudi Arabia expand strategic partnership in energy, transport and healthcare

On May 26, 2025, Uzbekistan and Saudi Arabia signed a number of bilateral agreements aimed at deepening investment cooperation in key sectors of the economy, including energy, transport and healthcare. The documents were signed during official negotiations between representatives of the governments and business circles of the two countries.

The parties agreed to implement joint projects in the construction and modernization of medical institutions, the creation of logistics and transport hubs, as well as the development of infrastructure in the energy sector, including alternative energy sources. Important attention is paid to the use of modern technologies and the involvement of best practices of Saudi companies in the process of implementing initiatives.

Particular importance is attached to joint work in the healthcare sector, where it is planned not only to build new facilities, but also to introduce digital solutions, improve the skills of medical personnel and expand public access to quality services.

These steps are in line with Uzbekistan's strategy of attracting foreign direct investment, technological renewal of industry and improvement of social infrastructure. According to experts, the new cooperation with Saudi Arabia will create conditions for sustainable economic growth, as well as improve the standard of living of the population by creating jobs and increasing the availability of key services.

The deepening partnership also reflects the efforts of both countries to strengthen political and economic ties and jointly participate in large-scale regional projects focused on the development of Central Asia and the Middle East.
