Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan to introduce electronic queue system at the border to speed up cargo transportation

On May 26, 2025, representatives of Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan signed an agreement on the introduction of an electronic queue system at key border checkpoints. The initiative is aimed at reducing the waiting time when crossing the border, increasing capacity and improving conditions for participants in foreign economic activity.

The new system involves pre-online registration of vehicles, automatic distribution of arrival time intervals, as well as digital monitoring of cargo movement. This will significantly reduce the time that drivers and carriers spend waiting for border and customs procedures to pass.

It is expected that the implementation of the technology will begin in the coming months. Initially, the project will cover the busiest destinations, and in the future it can be extended to the entire section of the Uzbek-Kazakh border. The parties stressed that the electronic queue will be part of a broader program to digitalize border processes and increase transparency in cross-border transport.

The agreement is another step in the development of economic cooperation between the two countries and demonstrates the desire to create a modern and efficient logistics infrastructure. According to experts, the implementation of the project will help accelerate trade turnover, improve business conditions and strengthen the transport corridor between Central Asia and other regions.
