Uzbekistan is making steady steps to strengthen its position in the international information technology market. Minister of Digital Technologies of the country Sherzod Shermatov said that in 2025 IT is planned to reach a record volume of exports of IT services in the amount of $ 1 billion for the first time.
According to the Minister, such an ambitious indicator was made possible thanks to the consistent state policy on the development of the digital economy. In recent years, the country has been actively supporting startups, expanding its IT infrastructure, creating technology parks, and attracting foreign direct investment in the high-tech sector.
An important role in this process is played by the Digital Uzbekistan 2030 strategy, under which IT companies receive tax and customs benefits, administrative simplifications and access to state support programs.
It is expected that the implementation of this strategy will allow Uzbekistan to increase the volume of exports of IT services to $ 5 billion by 2030. Thus, the country seeks not only to digitally transform its economy, but also to occupy a significant place in the global IT ecosystem.
