In 2025, Uzbekistan achieved a significant achievement, entering the top 100 of the global startup ecosystem index for the first time. This result was evidence of the rapid growth of the country's innovation potential and progress in the development of the business environment.
The Global Startup Ecosystem Index is based on a comprehensive assessment of factors such as access to finance, the availability and quality of infrastructure, the level of government support, and the dynamics and activity of the business sector. Uzbekistan's entry into the prestigious international rating reflects the systemic changes that have taken place in the country in recent years.
A key role in this process was played by the measures taken by the government to create a favorable climate for the development of startups. Among them are the introduction of tax breaks for technology companies, the launch of educational and acceleration programs, support for young entrepreneurs, as well as the active development of IT infrastructure, including the creation of technology parks and incubators.
Growing interest in Uzbekistan from international investors has also become an important factor in promoting the country in the global ranking. Increased attention to the region from venture funds and technology corporations indicates confidence in the ongoing reforms and the prospects of the local market.
It is expected that entering the top 100 will further strengthen Uzbekistan's position as a center for technological development in Central Asia and attract additional investment in the startup sector, strengthening its contribution to the country's economy.
