Uzbekistan and Hungary agree to cooperate in nuclear energy sector

On May 21, 2025, a bilateral agreement on cooperation in the field of nuclear energy was signed in Budapest, as part of the official visit of President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev to Hungary. This document has become an important stage in the development of partnership between the two countries and reflects the desire to strengthen strategic ties in the energy sector.

The agreement provides for the implementation of joint projects for the development of nuclear energy, the exchange of scientific and technical knowledge, as well as the training of qualified personnel. Among the priority areas are the development of infrastructure, the introduction of modern technologies and ensuring a high level of security in the use of peaceful nuclear power.
