Uzbekistan and Slovenia sign $ 500 million agreements to expand economic cooperation

On May 14-15, 2025, the Slovenian capital Ljubljana hosted a series of bilateral meetings between Uzbek and Slovenian officials, during which agreements totaling $ 500 million were signed. The signed documents cover a wide range of industries-from industrial production to agriculture and pharmaceuticals, reflecting the desire of both countries to enhance business partnership and mutual investment activities.

The official delegation headed by the Uzbek delegation included the Minister of Investment, Industry and Trade of Uzbekistan Laziz Kudratov. He stressed that the agreements reached represent a significant step forward in the development of economic relations between Tashkent and Ljubljana. According to him, the implementation of the signed agreements will create a favorable basis for launching joint projects, attracting investment, expanding product access to the markets of both countries, as well as introducing innovative solutions in priority sectors.

The Slovenian side expressed interest in developing sustainable cooperation with Uzbekistan, especially in the context of the growing role of Central Asia in the global economy. It was noted that Slovenia has a high level of technological development and qualified personnel, while Uzbekistan offers favorable conditions for localization of production, access to regional markets and long-term partnership.

During the visit, they also discussed the prospects for scientific and technical exchange, cooperation in the field of ecology and green technologies, as well as opportunities for cooperation in the field of education and medicine.

The agreements reached indicate Uzbekistan's desire to continue its policy of deepening international relations and active participation in the global economy. Slovenia, in turn, sees Uzbekistan as one of the key partners in the region with high potential for growth and modernization.
