Uzbekistan received more than a million foreign tourists in one month for the first time

Uzbekistan received more than a million foreign tourists for the first time in one month (April). This record has become an important indicator of the growing attractiveness of Uzbekistan as a tourist destination in the international arena.

According to the Committee on Tourism, the largest share of visitors came from Central Asian countries, but there was also a steady increase in tourist flow from Europe, Southeast Asia and the Middle East. Among the most popular destinations are the historical cities of Samarkand, Bukhara and Khiva, along with Tashkent and regions that develop ecological and mountain tourism.

Experts explain the growing interest in the country by a number of factors: improving the tourist infrastructure, active construction of hotels, modernization of the transport system, simplification of the visa regime, as well as a purposeful state policy to promote the cultural and historical heritage of Uzbekistan abroad.

The authorities note that the achieved result is not the limit. In the coming years, it is planned to expand the range of tourist services, develop new routes and clusters, and improve the quality of service in accordance with international standards. The goal of the state strategy remains to transform Uzbekistan into one of the leading tourist centers in the region.
