Uzbekistan and Germany signed a memorandum on promoting labor migration: new prospects for Uzbek specialists

On April 7, 2025, the Republic of Uzbekistan, the Federal Republic of Germany and the Confederation of German Employers ' Associations signed a memorandum of understanding in the field of labor migration promotion. The document was an important step in the development of bilateral cooperation and the creation of organized mechanisms for employment of Uzbek citizens in Germany.

The agreement provides for the implementation of a whole range of measures aimed at training qualified personnel, adapting migrants to new working conditions, as well as simplifying procedures for obtaining permits. The partnership pays special attention to vocational training and language training, which will increase the competitiveness of Uzbek specialists in the German labor market.

The main areas of cooperation are identified industries in which Germany is experiencing a steady shortage of personnel: gastronomy, logistics and meat processing production. It is expected that the implementation of the agreement will effectively meet the needs of German enterprises, as well as provide Uzbek citizens with access to stable employment, decent working conditions and opportunities for professional growth.

The signing of the memorandum was the result of consistent work by the Uzbek side to expand international labor programs and create legal mechanisms that guarantee the protection of the interests of migrant workers. In turn, Germany confirmed its readiness to accept qualified specialists and integrate them into the country's socio-economic system.

The new initiative opens up prospects for expanding the geography of labor migration and strengthening humanitarian ties between the two countries, and will also become the basis for further deepening economic partnership.
