Uzbekistan has launched a digital inclusion project with the support of the World Bank

Uzbekistan, with the support of the World Bank, has launched a large-scale project in the field of digital inclusion, which aims to increase public access to digital technologies and public services. The initiative pays special attention to remote and poorly covered regions, where access to modern IT infrastructure and digital education opportunities is still limited.

The project provides for a set of measures aimed at developing digital infrastructure, supporting technology startups, and expanding educational programs in the field of information technology. In particular, the focus is on training a new generation of qualified IT specialists who can further contribute to the digital transformation of the economy and public administration.

According to the Ministry of Digital Technologies of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the project plans to create at least 25,000 new jobs in the IT sector. In addition, training will be provided for more than 6,000 young professionals aged 18 to 30, which will provide access to in-demand skills and increase the level of digital literacy in the country.

It is expected that the successful implementation of the project will not only accelerate the pace of digitalization of Uzbekistan, but will also help reduce digital inequality, strengthen social and economic sustainability, and increase the country's competitiveness in the international arena.
