Uzbekistan and China discuss opening a branch of the Beijing Institute of Technology in Tashkent

Uzbekistan and China are negotiating the possible opening of a branch of the Beijing Institute of Technology (BIT) in Tashkent. The implementation of this project will deepen bilateral cooperation in the field of science and education, as well as create new opportunities for training highly qualified personnel in the field of engineering, digital technologies and innovation.

According to the Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Innovation of the Republic of Uzbekistan, negotiations are at an early stage. Currently, organizational and legal aspects are being discussed, as well as potential areas of educational activities of the future branch.

The initiative to open a branch of one of the leading technical universities in China reflects Uzbekistan's desire to develop international partnership and introduce advanced foreign experience into the domestic education system. It is expected that joint programs developed with the participation of BIT will contribute to the training of a new generation of specialists who are in demand in the rapidly developing technological economy.

The parties expressed interest in continuing the dialogue and developing a specific roadmap for the establishment of the branch in the near future.
