The Asian Development Bank (ADB) has confirmed its intention to assist Uzbekistan in implementing projects aimed at improving the efficiency of the energy sector. This includes providing technical assistance, as well as possible participation in the financing of key initiatives in the field of sustainable and renewable energy.
According to the Director of the ADB representative office in Uzbekistan, the bank is closely following the reforms in the country's energy sector and is considering expanding its participation in new projects. In particular, the priority areas of cooperation may include the introduction of modern technologies at energy generation and distribution facilities,as well as the development of solar and wind energy.
The Asian Development Bank's support will help reduce transmission losses, improve the energy efficiency of production processes, and accelerate the transition to greener energy sources. This, in turn, will help Uzbekistan achieve its sustainable development goals and reduce its dependence on fossil resources.
Uzbekistan has been actively developing partnerships with international financial institutions in recent years, seeking to modernize its infrastructure and ensure reliable energy supply for both industry and the population. Cooperation with ADB is seen in this context as one of the key tools for attracting investment and best practices in the country's energy sector.
