The Ministry of Investment, Industry and Trade of the Republic of Uzbekistan held a meeting with the Chinese delegation, during which they discussed prospects for cooperation in the field of investment in special economic zones (SEZs) of the country. The talks were held by Deputy Minister Ilzat Kasimov.
Within the framework of the dialogue, the parties considered the possibilities of placing new production facilities, as well as expanding and modernizing existing enterprises in the FEZ territory. Special attention was paid to the issues of increasing the investment attractiveness of the regions of Uzbekistan, as well as the conditions created for foreign investors under the current legislation.
According to the Ministry, representatives of the Chinese side expressed interest in cooperation in a number of priority areas, including mechanical engineering, textile industry, processing of agricultural products and the agricultural sector in general. Potential partnership in these areas can make a significant contribution to the development of Uzbekistan's export potential, the creation of new jobs and the introduction of modern technologies.
The initiatives discussed during the meeting are seen as part of efforts to strengthen economic ties between Uzbekistan and China, as well as to attract foreign direct investment in priority sectors of the economy.
