Uzbekistan's foreign trade turnover exceeded $17 billion in the first quarter of 2025

The National Statistical Committee has published data on Uzbekistan's foreign trade activities for the first quarter of 2025. According to the report, the country's total foreign trade turnover reached $17.3 billion, which is 8.6% higher than in the same period last year.

The most noticeable growth was recorded in exports: the volume of Uzbek goods and services delivered abroad increased by 24.4% and amounted to $8.11 billion. At the same time, there is a decrease in the volume of imports — by 2.3% compared to the first quarter of 2024. In the first three months of 2025, the volume of imported products amounted to $9.19 billion. Thus, the gap between exports and imports has narrowed significantly, reflecting the gradual equalization of the country's trade balance.

Experts attribute the growth of export indicators to strengthening the position of national products in international markets, improving logistics links and increasing the volume of the processing industry. Uzbekistan actively promotes agricultural products, textiles, construction materials and products of the metallurgical industry.

Among the main foreign trade partners of Uzbekistan, China is the leader-it accounts for 17.5% of the total turnover, Russia with a share of 14.9%, and Kazakhstan, which provided 5.9% of foreign trade operations. In addition, ties with other countries in Asia, Europe and the Middle East are being strengthened.

The growth of foreign trade turnover at the beginning of 2025 indicates stable economic dynamics and confirms the effectiveness of the government's policy of stimulating exports and diversifying foreign economic relations.
