Uzbekistan increases persimmon exports: over 2,400 tons delivered in two months

According to the State Statistics Committee, in January-February 2025, Uzbekistan exported 2,451 tons of persimmons for a total of 2.8 million US dollars. The main export destinations are Russia, Kazakhstan and the United Arab Emirates, where Uzbek products are in high demand due to their taste and competitive price.

The growth in export volumes was the result of comprehensive measures taken in the country to improve the competitiveness of agricultural products. In particular, in recent years, modern agricultural technologies aimed at improving the yield and quality of fruits have been actively introduced. Farmers are increasingly using drip irrigation, biological plant protection products, and new breeding approaches.

Modernization of the logistics infrastructure has made a significant contribution to building up the export potential. Fruit storage and processing capacities are being expanded, and modern refrigerating complexes are being created to ensure the safety of products all the way from the field to the end user. Delivery routes are also optimized, which allows you to reduce delivery times and preserve the freshness of fruits.

An additional factor contributing to the expansion of the export geography was the active implementation of international quality standards and certification. More and more farms in Uzbekistan are receiving relevant documents confirming that their products meet the requirements of foreign markets.

It is expected that in 2025 the volume of persimmon exports will continue to grow, and the country will strengthen its position in the international fresh fruit market, expanding the list of partner countries and increasing the level of income in the agro-industrial sector.
