Uzbekistan has doubled its exports and started reforming its certification system

In a recent speech, President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev announced a significant increase in the country's foreign economic indicators. According to him, the volume of exports increased 2.2 times, and the total foreign trade turnover reached 57% of the gross domestic product. This indicates the high dynamics of trade development and the growing interest of foreign partners in Uzbek products.

Despite the positive trends, the Head of State noted the presence of serious obstacles hindering the further expansion of foreign economic activity. In particular, we are talking about an outdated certification system that includes redundant and inefficient requirements, especially for food products. These barriers hinder the access of Uzbek goods to international markets and reduce their competitiveness.

In this regard, the President instructed to speed up the reform of the certification system. In the near future, the country will introduce a declaration of conformity mechanism, as well as reduce the list of products subject to mandatory certification. These measures are expected to significantly simplify export procedures and create more favorable conditions for producers.

The upcoming changes are aimed at increasing confidence in the national quality system, ensuring transparency of procedures and stimulating the development of the country's export potential.
