During a bilateral meeting held in Budapest on the sidelines of an international forum, representatives of the customs services of Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan discussed a set of measures to simplify border procedures and speed up the movement of goods between the two countries. During the negotiations, the parties confirmed their commitment to deepening cooperation in the field of customs administration and logistics.
One of the key areas of discussion was the formation of a unified approach to cargo clearance. This will make it possible to minimize duplicate procedures, reduce the administrative burden on participants in foreign economic activity, and increase the efficiency of mutual trade. Special attention was paid to the issues of digitalization-it is planned to integrate information systems and introduce electronic data exchange between departments.
The parties also agreed to develop a mechanism for joint customs control at checkpoints. In the near future, it is planned to launch the first inspection mission, in which specialists from the two countries will jointly check vehicles crossing the border. This practice will reduce the time required for cargo clearance and transit, improve the transparency of logistics operations, and increase the level of trust between government agencies.
It is expected that the agreements reached will be an important step towards creating a more integrated and sustainable trade and transport system in Central Asia, strengthening regional ties and contributing to the economic growth of both countries.
