Uzbekistan studies Japanese experience in ensuring energy supply sustainability

From April 21 to 25, the delegation of Uzbekistan is on a working visit to Japan to study best practices in the field of energy supply sustainability and risk management in the energy sector. The delegation included representatives of relevant ministries, energy companies and research organizations of the country.

The program of the visit covers a wide range of events, including visits to thermal power plants, research institutes, as well as meetings with representatives of leading Japanese energy corporations. Special attention is paid to emergency response technologies, early warning systems, and backup power supply models in emergency situations.

During the meetings, the Uzbek side gets acquainted with the mechanisms for ensuring the uninterrupted operation of the energy infrastructure in the face of natural disasters, including earthquakes, floods and other natural threats. Japan's approaches to energy resource planning, improving energy efficiency, and implementing innovative solutions to improve the overall sustainability of the system are also being explored.

The results of this visit will be used in developing the national energy security strategy of Uzbekistan, including updating regulatory documents related to resilience to external threats. The experience gained is expected to help create a more reliable and sustainable energy system that can effectively manage risks and provide a stable energy supply in both normal and emergency conditions.
