The Space Research and Technology Agency of Uzbekistan (Uzcosmos) is considering launching its own scientific and technological satellite using the launch facilities of the American company SpaceX. This was reported by the press service of Uzcosmos following the official visit of the Uzbek delegation to the United States of America.
During the visit, negotiations were held with representatives of SpaceX, where the Uzbek side presented the concept of the future satellite project. It is planned that the spacecraft will be developed in cooperation with leading universities in the country. Special attention is expected to be paid to attracting young specialists — they will be the main performers of the project's engineering tasks.
In addition to technological cooperation, the parties discussed long-term areas of cooperation within the framework of the implementation of the Strategy for the Development of the Space Industry of Uzbekistan until 2035. The document provides for the development of small satellite programs, strengthening the research base and creating a modern ground infrastructure for satellite management and processing remote sensing data.
Uzcosmos sees this project as an important step towards expanding the country's scientific potential, technological sovereignty and integration into the international space community.
